Duke Start-Up Challenge

The Duke Start-Up Challenge provides an outlet for entrepreneurial collaboration among Duke students and faculty,  with a $50K grand prize. The competition spans the academic year and includes sub-competitions for an elevator pitch, an executive summary and a business plan. 

Program II

As an alternative program of study for those students whose academic interests are not met through our existing majors, minors and certificates, Program II offers the opportunity to create a tailored curriculum.

Duke Smart Home Program

The Duke Smart Home Program is a research-based approach to smart living sponsored by the Pratt School of Engineering. Primarily focused on undergraduates, it encourages students from different academic disciplines to form teams and explore smart ways to use technology in the home.

The Walk Again Project is a multinational collaborative effort to free paralyzed patients from the confines of their physical bodies through breakthroughs in neuroscience.

Led by the Duke Center for Neuroengineering, Walk Again is developing a high-performance brain-controlled prosthetic device that may enable patients to escape their wheelchairs.

Over the past decade, neuroscientists at Duke have helped to develop the field of brain-machine interface (BMI) into one of the most promising areas of basic and applied research in modern neuroscience.
