The D: Ask a Question

What is Duke's SAT and ACT policy? What is Duke's average/minimum SAT or ACT score?

All candidates for admission must complete either the College Board Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or the test of the American College Program (ACT) and arrange to have official test scores sent to Duke. For information about Duke's standardized testing requirements, click here.

We do not have a minimum required score for either the SAT or the ACT since we consider many factors in our admissions process. Also, we do not report an average SAT or ACT score. Rather, we report the middle 50 percent range of our admitted students. This means that 25 percent of the students we admit score higher than the upper end of the range, and 25 percent score below the lower end of the range.
