Applying to DukeWho We're Looking For How To Apply Cost & Financial Aid Duke In Your Area Preparing for College The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, codified at 20 USC 1092 (f) (Clery Act) as a part of the Higher Education Act of 1965, is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose annual information about campus crime. Each year the University files a report with the United States Department of Education stating the incidences of crime on campus. The Annual Clery Report includes statistics for three years of reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Duke University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning Campus security, such as policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
