Applying to Duke: Duke in Your AreaRepresentatives from Duke's Office of Undergraduate Admissions travel to locations around the United States and the world to provide interested students and their parents an opportunity to learn more about Duke. At our programs, you can learn about Duke's academic and extracurricular programs, admissions process, student life, and financial assistance options. All interested students, parents, and guidance counselors are welcome! Discover Duke is a series of programs in which our admissions officers travel to various regions of the country and abroad and invite high school students and their parents from each area to attend a special presentation about Duke University. Our admissions officers also visit high schools in select cities across the United States and abroad during the fall. Students can obtain information about these high school visits from their guidance counseling office. And our admissions officers travel throughout the country with representatives from other leading universities, including Georgetown University, Harvard University, Stanford University, and the University of Pennsylvania. At each event, representatives from the four schools offer brief slide presentations about their institutions and answer questions about the sometimes-mystifying world of college admissions. In these programs with other universities, students can learn about what distinguishes one fine university from another, what competitive colleges look for in the selection process, and what students can do to enhance their college applications. |
