Yes, there is available parking on campus, but you should arrive early to allow ample time to get to your destination.
The Duke Campus: Visiting Duke: ParkingVisitors to the Undergraduate Admissions Office should be aware that there are a limited number of free parking spaces in the circular drive in the front of our office. However, visitors who park in these spaces will need a permit and should see the receptionist when they arrive. There are more spaces in the circular drive behind McClendon Commons, which is located next to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Parking in these spaces costs $1.00/hour. During peak times, it is often easier to park in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens, which is accessible from Anderson Street. Parking in this lot also costs $1.00/hour. It takes approximately five minutes to walk from the lot to our office, so please be sure to leave yourself plenty of time (and though the parking lot is nice, you'd be remiss if you didn't take at least a quick stroll through the Gardens!). You can see the location of the Duke Gardens Parking lot on our map of West Campus; please note the location of "Metered Parking" adjacent to Anderson Street. To get to the visitor lot from our office turn left at the end of our driveway. Take a left at the light onto Anderson Street. The entrance to the Gardens lot is on the left and is well marked. Please do not park in decal zones, handicapped spaces, or service vehicle spaces. |
