This is Duke
Welcome President Price!
On October 5, Duke University celebrated the inauguration of Vincent Price as our 10th president. The event was held in Abele Quad on Duke’s West Campus, in front of Duke University Chapel. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Broadhead Center and concluded with fireworks over the campus. Welcome, President Price!
Our thoughts are with all the students, families, and colleagues affected by recent hurricanes, wildfires, and earthquake. The Undergraduate Admissions Office will be flexible with respect to Early Decision application and testing deadlines for affected families, and will waive the application fees of families enduring hardships as a result of the storms upon written or emailed request from students or counselors.

$20 Million Donation Goes to First-Generation Scholarship Program
The gift, given by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, will support Duke's merit scholarship for high-achieving, low-income students who are the first in their families to go to college. The existing Washington Duke Scholars Program will be renamed as the David M. Rubenstein Scholars Program.
What's Your Forever?
For our graduates, it's Forever Duke. Hear alumni discuss the things that drive them and the ways Duke helped them discover and develop their abiding passions.
The Duke Philosophy: Access and Flexibility.
We guide our students to find their own academic paths by helping them to reason, analyze and understand in unprecedented ways. The undergraduate experience at Duke is characterized by a spirit of academic energy, exploration and challenge.
We are a research university with resources to connect undergraduate education to the processes of inquiry and discovery. Duke students explore ideas by collaborating directly with our exceptional faculty in a program of study that focuses on interdisciplinary exploration.
A student's education doesn't end at the classroom door. We provide an incredible variety of opportunities for students to enhance and supplement in-class learning with hands-on experiences, service in the community—both locally and globally—and development of leadership skills.

I’m thrilled to be part of Duke at a moment in time when this nation and world need universities more than ever.
We need educated and thoughtful, inclusive communities of people who are dedicated to identifying and solving our most challenging problems.
