Visiting Artist Wanjiru Kamuy taught a celebration dance from the Makonde people of Tanzania, an immersive participatory jubilation project centering joy as an act of resistance, resilience, peaceful protest and dreaming of a better tomorrow. It is a big party, anchored in the strength and voices of women and highlighting dances and music from her region of birth, East Africa.
